Project Description

In an effort to revitalize downtown Jackson, this historic 10-story building was transformed into a mixed-use facility offering office space, residential units and retail outlets. What is now called the Electric Building was constructed in 1927 as the Lampton Building and was one of Jackson’s first “high rise” structures. Over the years the building has housed utility offices, law firms—even a barbershop and a drug store. Plans to modernize the building included amenities like hot-wiring for wireless Internet access. The top two floors house executive condominiums, complete with amenities and services equivalent to those offered at upscale boutique hotels: concierge, custodial, dry-cleaning delivery, and security.
