This was a time sensitive project performed in rapid response to Hurricane Sandy damages. Tutor Perini received an RFP on a Friday, submitted a proposal on the next day (Saturday), met with the city on the following Monday and mobilized 117 management staff and 781 field laborers in city neighborhoods on Tuesday, one day following NTP. The work was for removal of water damaged debris from residences; emergency repairs to restore heat, power, and hot water, and ancillary repairs to make the dwellings weather tight and protect residents from further damages. A total of 4,626 residential units were repaired within a 105 calendar day time period.
