Woolfolk Building Addition and Renovations

Jackson Mississippi

Roy Anderson successfully relocated the entire State Tax Commission from the Woolfolk State Office Building and then began construction. This project consisted of a complete renovation of the existing 16-floor, 260,000 square foot office building which was originally built in 1947, and construction of a 16-floor, 150,000 square foot addition and parking garage. Combined, these facilities house the Governor, his administrative staff and the Bureau of Buildings for the State of Mississippi. It was a critical factor that the limestone exterior of the new addition match the limestone on the original building. Interior finishes included marble and granite floors, and marble walls and column covers. Extensive architectural millwork was required including “Angere” paneling throughout the Governor’s floors. This project was awarded a Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors Merit Award for Commercial Construction over $15 million.
