Construction of Lockheed Martin’s newest satellite manufacturing facility included the production of 814 auger-cast piles on an aggressive schedule of 10 weeks. This 300,000 square foot structure is a pre-engineered metal building with a footprint of approximately 200,000 square feet. This project features the largest clean rooms in the United States outside of Houston, TX. These rooms are the main focus of this project, housing high-tech satellites and components.

Another interesting feature of the project is the blast cell structure. Consisting of 30” thick concrete walls and a 36” concrete roof, this structure can withstand the potential blast of space equipment being tested to extreme pressures.  The project also includes metrology labs and offices where equipment is tested to the highest of standards.

This project won a Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors Merit award for Commercial General Construction over $15 million.
