The National Bank of Commerce and Commerce Building Addition are comprised of a 1926-27 classically styled early skyscraper and a 1956 international Style skyscraper.
This design-build project is the renovation of the former Commerce Building, an existing office building, converting it into a new 155 room Hilton hotel. The building is 18 stories with the hotel occupying the basement, 1st floor, and floors 11 through 18. The lower floors include an existing parking garage that will remain in operation for the duration of the project. Hotel amenities include meeting rooms, dining facilities, and a roof top pool. The project also includes a new atrium in the center of this existing concrete structure. This project is the first ever with an exterior curtain wall system eligible to receive tax credits for historical preservation from the National Park Service.
