Work at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama started with a 3 level parking deck expansion and the addition of levels 4,5 & 6 of the Southeast Tower over occupied areas to house three new patient units. Numerous complex projects have been completed within the confines of the operating facility including the surgery expansion ($11 million), minor procedures infill ($2.7 million), critical care renovations ($14 million) and nursing unit renovations ($15 million, the North Tower Addition ($3.2 million) which added two floors above the existing critical care unit, and most recently, the NorthWest Tower ($18 million) which adds seven floors to and over the existing hospital.
