After Hurricane Katrina struck the Mississippi Gulf Coast in August 2005, Harrah’s Entertainment sold their heavily damaged Gulfport property to Gulfside Casino Partnership who immediately began a massive renovation and construction project to convert the former Oasis Hotel into the City of Gulfports first land-based casino.
Phase I of this new casino resort featured 950 slot machines and 15 table games in the casino, a renovated 560-room hotel with the addition of a 350-seat buffet restaurant. Phase II included a 100,000 sq. ft. expansion to the existing structure providing for a total of 2,100 slot machines, 48 table games, C&G Grille, Emeril’s Gulf Coast Fish House, and several feature bars and lounges. A new 4-story, 658-space parking garage was also added to this property
